Our hotel, always committed to the protection of personal data, wishes to inform our guests that in March 2026 the IT systems of Passepartout S.p.A., our property management software provider, were subject to a cyberattack resulting in a personal data breach. We wish to clarify that the incident did not involve Hotel Nettuno's internal systems. As soon as we became aware of the situation, we took immediate action: we notified the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante) and contacted via email all guests with open bookings to inform them of the risk.
What fraudulent messages look like
Real cases have already been reported. Fraudulent messages typically arrive via WhatsApp from unknown contacts and may include:
- The guest's real name, surname and booking number
- An urgent request to update booking details, with the threat of automatic cancellation within a few hours
- An external link to click in order to "complete verification"
Do not respond to these messages. Hotel Nettuno never sends requests of this kind via WhatsApp or through external links.
How to protect yourself
- Do not click on any link received via WhatsApp or email regarding your booking
- Do not share personal data, credit card details or verification codes
- Do not make any payment following requests received via message

If you have already received a suspicious message, please take a screenshot and send it to info@hotel-nettuno.com — it will help us monitor the situation and report it to the relevant authorities
